This interactive CD-ROM consists of 20 case scenarios that require advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS). Designed in a "game-like" manner, the CD-ROM lets users act as the team leader for simulated cases in a variety of settings" including prehospital, the emergency room, and the critical care unit. Through the use of "real-life" animation, users are presented with a realistic simulation of a patient in need of care. Users then run the code as the team leader, treating the patient using realistic medical tools and seeing accurate results based on the treatments chosen. At the conclusion of each case, the user receives a review of performance and a score.
